Her vision continues to inspire
Mother Agnes Spencer, SSJ, foundress of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwestern Pennsylvania , was once described as “a woman of strong personality, great tact, and ability”.
She was a visionary who accomplished much in her 58 years; and she was instrumental in the founding of hospitals, orphanages, schools, and other ministries, Mother Agnes left a legacy with her pioneering spirit and determination to meet the needs of those around her. More than a century and a half later, the Mother Agnes Spencer, SSJ Legacy Society was named in her honor to recognize those who share her vision and make a commitment to a gift of a lifetime…in essence, a legacy gift.

The Mother Agnes Spencer, SSJ Legacy Society honors those forward-thinking individuals who make legacy gifts in support of caring for the Sisters in retirement and supporting their mission and ministries in perpetuity.
